SJHH HEALTH TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT APPRAISAL & REVIEW PROGRAM (SHARP)
Overview
The St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) Health Technology Assessment Appraisal & Review Program (SHARP) is a new research program focused on assisting local hospital decision making regarding new drugs, devices, procedures and programs.
Using literature reviews and synthesis techniques, PATH applies evidence-based approaches to local hospital decision making.
This program attempts to develop a process that brings more structure and consistency to the evidentiary base assembled and utilized by hospital decision making committees for capital acquisitions and for funding of devices, procedures and programs. Working in collaboration with senior SJHH administration, this program represents a unique departure from the traditional hospital decision making process.
